Bitcoin All-Time High

The all-time high is the highest price per currency in our own price database (daily data from July 2010, 5-minute resolution since 2012); in euros and US dollars it can fall on different days. USD prices are the historically traded prices; EUR values are converted from them at each day's ECB reference rate. The distance from the ATH updates hourly, in each currency against the high in that currency. The gauge zones are the quarters of all days since the July 2016 halving (two completed halving cycles plus the current one): for each day we take the close's distance from the highest price up to then; in US dollars -15.8%, -42.3% (median) and -58.5% separate the zones near high, correction, bear and deep bear, and the deepest value was -83.8%. The years before were a small, thinly traded market whose crashes would skew the quarters. The breaks without a new high count the days between two all-time highs (daily high, whole series since 2010); shown are those of 365 days or more.
